Another Pirate Ball In The Books!
OHL's Pirate Ball was a success! OHL’s Pirate Ball is a swashbuckling good time filled with great food, libations, entertainment, and silent auction. Thanks to all who came out to support and/or volunteer! For those that didn't, we hope you consider it next year! Party-goers enjoyed live music from Bobby J and Stuff Like That, delicious tasting bites from 11 local restaurants, special performances from the New Orleans Sirens and had the opportunity to bid on over 70 auction items.
All proceeds from the night will benefit OHL’s encompassing system of addiction treatment and healthcare services, helping us serve over 900 individuals a month!
In addition to the usual pirate revelry, there was also a special presentation of the “Thomy Lafon Award," where OHL honored an individual who has made significant contributions to OHL’s mission and social services in New Orleans. The award celebrates the life and work of philanthropist, human rights activist, and original proprietor of OHL’s 1125 N. Tonti St. property, Thomy Lafon, and honors someone who keeps Mr. Lafon's legacy of social service moving forward. This year OHL honored Councilmember-at-Large Helena Moreno for her long-time dedication to OHL (pictured).
