OHL Health Center Achieves  - OHL Health Center Achieves FQHC Status

OHL officially received its award notice from HRSA this week to be recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) New Access Point! This will provide OHL and the Clinic with ongoing annual funding to increase staff and expand healthcare access to our community. OHL was one of two facilities in New Orleans to receive this designation.

A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is a reimbursement designation from the Bureau of Primary Health Center and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Key characteristics of FQHC's are:

- Not-for-Profit

- Provide a comprehensive scope of services

- Located in or serve a high need community

- Govern with community involvement

- Treat patients regardless of ability to pay
