CEO MEETS HHS SECRETARY - OHL CEO MEETS HHS SECRETARY

OHL's Chief Executive Officer Edward Carlson met with new Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, M.D., in his personal office in Washington, D.C., Monday to offer policy guidance regarding concerns facing the substance abuse treatment industry. The meeting, which was also attended by four senior level advisers at HHS, covered the CMS 15-day in-patient care limitations introduced by the previous administration, as well as the necessity of separating addiction from mental health classifications under the law. Secretary Price assured Odyssey House that the agency would investigate current policy challenges and seek patient-centered solutions to them that empower individuals, families and providers to make the best choices for care. OHL is optimistic that it will continue to develop a strong, meaningful relationship with the new HHS Secretary and those who oversee our nation's substance abuse treatment facilities.
