Odyssey House Academy provides intensive substance abuse counseling, relapse prevention, psychiatric services and educational services to adolescents ages 12-17. The program is individualized and length of stay will depend on need of resident. While at the Academy, residents participate in individual, family and/or group therapies, and educational instruction.

Over the course of their treatment at the Academy, residents participate in daily individual, family and/or group therapies and educational instruction. The therapeutic community model is used to provide residents with the needed skills to make choices to live a drug free life.

Parental involvement is required to allow for weekly family therapy sessions and prepare the resident and his/her family for the resident’s discharge back into the family and community.

Educational services are provided year round. The educational staff communicates with the adolescents’ teachers so that residents can be instructed on materials currently being taught at their grade level. Each resident is tested academically at admission and discharge to provide the parents and community school with the child’s academic progression while at Odyssey House Academy. Academic instruction includes the use of the Academy’s computer lab and GED instruction is given, as needed.
