Odyssey House Louisiana (OHL) is a nonprofit behavioral health care provider with an emphasis on addiction treatment. OHL was established in 1973 as a nonprofit residential substance abuse treatment facility with the mission of empowering people to conquer addiction. Today, Odyssey House offers a professional, structured and caring Therapeutic Community with comprehensive services and effective support systems that enable individuals to chart new lives and return to their communities as contributing members.

Community Prisoner Reentry
The Community Prisoner Re-entry Initiative is designed to assist non-violent ex-offenders who are returning to their local communities through an employment-based program that incorporates housing, mentoring, job training and other services. The program is funded by a grant from the President’s Prisoner Re-entry Initiative, one of only 30 such grants issued nationwide.

The Odyssey House project — a collaborative effort of the Louisiana Department of Labor and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections — aims to serve 400 adult ex-offenders in the greater New Orleans area. As the lead agency, Odyssey House provides support services such as housing, mentorship, medical care, substance abuse and personal counseling, together with job placement, to prepare returning ex-offenders for new lives as productive workers.
