

Odyssey House Louisiana (OHL) is a nonprofit behavioral health care provider with an emphasis on addiction treatment. OHL was established in 1973 as a nonprofit residential substance abuse treatment facility with the mission of empowering people to conquer addiction. Today, Odyssey House offers a professional, structured and caring Therapeutic Community with comprehensive services and effective support systems that enable individuals to chart new lives and return to their communities as contributing members.

Odyssey House Louisiana's Outpatient facility operates 12 hours a day, five days a week. The hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. OHL's Outpatient Program provides substance abuse and mental health treatment services to ADULTS (18+) and ADOLESCENTS (12-17).
Clients may be referred by other departments at OHL, probation officers, the court system, outside service agencies, family members, friends, or may be self-referred.
Adult Outpatient Services:
Examples of outpatient services include regular, ongoing substance abuse treatment and counseling offering individual and/or group sessions by licensed professionals. Services include: recovery readiness, 12-step model, rational recovery approach model, and aftercare. In addition to individual counseling sessions, each client will be offered group and family counseling services.
Mid-City Teens Program at Odyssey House:
Using the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach and Assertive Continuing Care models, we offer weekly hour-long individual sessions with the adolescent, including several sessions that involve the parent/caregiver.
These sessions focus on:
- Abstinence from alcohol and drugs,
- Participation in pro-social activities,
- Positive family relationships,
- Positive peer relationships,
- Effective care-giving; and,
- Other issues that affect sobriety and lifestyle choices.
