US Surgeon General Visits OHL
OHL was honored to host the United States Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, for a tour of our facility, Thursday, December 1. This visit comes on the heels of the Surgeon General's first ever report focused on addiction, The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health. This Report aims to shift the way our society thinks about substance misuse and substance use disorders while defining actions we can take to prevent and treat these conditions.
During the visit, Dr. Murthy spoke with OHL senior staff regarding our work here on the ground, followed by a tour of our facility. Dr. Murthy then sat down with two OHL clients who each shared their personal stories of recovery.
We thank Dr. Murthy and his staff for taking the time to visit our facility; we are so proud to share our work on this important platform!
